Terms of use

1. Purpose

FamilyVault lets you keep family documents (identity papers, insurance, contracts…) on this phone, encrypted, without an Internet connection.

3. Everything stays on your phone

FamilyVault uses no account and no Internet connection. The publisher has no access to any of your documents. Your data only leaves the phone when you decide: sharing, syncing with someone close, or backing up.

4. Security is not 100% guaranteed

Your documents are encrypted and protected by your PIN, but no protection is absolute. In particular:

• anyone who knows your PIN, or whose fingerprint is registered on the phone, can access the whole vault;
• on a modified (rooted) or compromised phone, protection is reduced;
• a shared document leaves FamilyVault's protection: the app that receives it may keep it;
• when syncing, send the package and the codes by two different means.

5. PIN and backups

Nobody can recover your PIN, not even the publisher. If you forget it, the only option is to erase FamilyVault and restore a backup. Without a backup, your documents are lost. FamilyVault sends no backup reminders: making backups and keeping their password is your responsibility.

6. Liability

FamilyVault is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for the loss, alteration or disclosure of documents, in particular in case of a forgotten PIN, no backup, loss or theft of the phone, or a modified phone.

7. Erasure

You can erase all your data at any time from the settings. Uninstalling FamilyVault also erases it.

8. Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be shown to you and must be accepted to keep using FamilyVault.
